Midnight Marauders is the third studio album by American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, released on November 9, 1993, by Jive Records. Recording sessions for the album occurred at Battery Studios, Platinum Island Studios and Scorcerer Sound in New York City. Its production was mainly handled by Q-Tip, with contributions from Skeff Anselm, Large Professor and the group's DJ, Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

The Marauders were a group of four Gryffindors and classmates: Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and James Potter. The four attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1971-1978. They had a knack for rule-breaking and mischief making. While at Hogwarts they also created the Marauder's Map, which continues to help future generations of mischief makers.

The Marauders are a small band of antagonistic survivors that serve as the main antagonists of Volume 10: What We Become for a short time. Nothing is known about the bandits before the apocalypse began. They may have been either friends or brothers (due to similar appearances). After the apocalypse began, the trio likely formed up and began their criminal spree.

Marauders has become one of the 1990s’ most celebrated LPs, and rivals The Low End Theory in the Greatest A Tribe Called Quest Album debate. In retrospect, it’s the last undeniable moment from ATCQ, when they were still the standard-bearers for creativity in the game. Soon after, Tribe’s synergy would become famously strained, and the emergence of Bad Boy Records would reshape mainstream East Coast hip-hop’s landscape. Their late-'90s albums are still noteworthy: the emergence of J. Dilla, the development of The Ummah production team, the debut of affiliate Consequence - but Phife’s disillusionment and detachment is palpable on both 1996's Beats, Rhymes & Life and 1998s The Love Movement. As such, it’s easy to see why Midnight Marauders is a pinnacle for one of hip-hop’s greatest acts.

The Marauders is a 1955 American Eastmancolor, Technicolor Western film directed by Gerald Mayer and starring Dan Duryea, Jeff Richards, Keenan Wynn and Jarma Lewis. Avery, who wears a Confederate Army uniform even though he didn't serve in the Civil War, demands that the men who work for rancher John Rutherford avenge him after Rutherford is killed trying to remove a squatter, Corey Everett, from his land.
