Frankie Yankovic - 40 Hits I Almost Missed MP3 version.

Frank John "Frankie" Yankovic (July 28, 1915 – December 24, 2008) was an American accordion player and polka musician. Known as "America's Polka King," Yankovic was considered the premier artist to play in the Slovenian style during his long career. He is not related to fellow accordionist "Weird Al" Yankovic, although the two have collaborated. Born to Slovene immigrant parents, Yankovic was raised in the Collinwood neighborhood on Cleveland's East Side.

These studio recordings from the late '40s feature versions of Yankovic's two biggest hits, "Blue Skirt Waltz" (performed here with a male vocal group instead of the Marlin Sisters) and "Just Because," both of which sold well in the pop and country fields. The set is otherwise packed with twin-accordion polkas and waltzes, with vocal numbers sprinkled throughout.

Yankovic released his second album "Weird Al" Yankovic in 3-D in 1984. The first single "Eat It", a parody of the Michael Jackson song "Beat It", became popular, thanks in part to the music video, a shot-for-shot parody of Jackson's "Beat It" music video, and what Yankovic described as his "uncanny resemblance" to Jackson. Yankovic is well known for creating parodies of contemporary radio hits, typically which make up about half of his studio releases. Although many of Yankovic's songs are parodies of contemporary radio hits, it is rare that the song's primary topic lampoons the original artist as a person, or the song itself. Most Yankovic songs consist of the original song's music, with a separate, unrelated set of amusing lyrics.
