Brian McKnight is the debut studio album of R&B singer Brian McKnight released in 1992 by Mercury Records. It features his then-highest charting single, "One Last Cry", which reached number thirteen on the US Billboard Hot 100 and sold 500,000 copies. The album itself was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The band's second album released in 1996, Take It from the Man!, is rooted heavily in the maximum rhythm and blues aesthetic of the 1960s British Invasion. The album includes the song "Straight Up and Down", which was later used as theme music for the HBO television drama series Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), and was engineered by Larry. Thrasher of the influential group Psychic TV. The third and final album released that year was Thank God for Mental Illness, a more stripped-down effort. The Brian Jonestown Massacre released the album Aufheben on May 1, 2012.
1990's Still Got The Blues album was an abrupt and risky game-changer that reignited the tradition of blistering British blues guitar. So in came Bob Daisley to play with Moore’s long-standing friend Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy.
The Rolling Stones claim they made their new blues album in three days - which is remarkable since it sounds like they couldn't have spent more than two. Easily their rawest recording in decades, "Blue & Lonesome" finds the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers happily reconnecting with the unvarnished Chicago blues that inspired the late Brian Jones to form the band in 1962. Jagger puts across the same weathered vibe on harmonica, which he takes up often on "Blue & Lonesome," most memorably in the dirge-like title track written by Little Walter. The sound here is basically an amplified death wheeze. Get breaking stories straight from Hollywood, covering film, television, music and more. You are now following this newsletter.
