Tony (Anthony) Defries (born September 3, 1943) is a British former music manager and impresario. He managed David Bowie's career during his elevation to global stardom, but later fell out with him in a contract dispute. He established a rights management organisation called MainMan and helped launch the careers of Iggy Pop, Mick Ronson, Mott the Hoople, Dana Gillespie and John Cougar Mellencamp. Defries and MainMan have received multiple awards for their achievements in the music industry.
David Defries ( born May 24, 1952 in London ) is a British jazz trumpeter and Althornspieler. Defries sang in the school choir and was a member of the Surrey County Youth Orchestra. He studied for two semesters at Leeds College of Music and completed some jazz classes. In 1985 he presented his debut album, The Secret City, which was also Maggie Nicols and Harry Beckett were involved. He then worked as a studio musician, including Annie Lennox in The The and Chris Farlowe, and was active in the Dedication Orchestra of Louis Moholo. He currently plays with the Brotherhood of Breath and No Fear Music.

Free City is the only studio album by hip-hop group St. Lunatics. It was released on June 5, 2001, almost a full year after the release of group member Nelly's debut, Country Grammar. The album was a commercial success as it debuted at on the Billboard 200 with 196,000 copies sold in its first week. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA a month later. The title Free City came from their sixth member City Spud who was incarcerated at the time of release.

His one solo lp of 1985/6 The Secret City is on the same axis as Don Cherry and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, jazz meeting world music, with Harry Beckett on second trumpet to half of the tracks.
