Unlike the archival concerts that have popped up in The Bootleg Series, Brandeis University 1963 isn’t a major statement. At seven songs, it’s brief and there’s no mythology behind the show; a recording wasn’t even known to exist until a tape was found within the collection of music critic Ralph J. Gleason in 2009.
Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".
April 28, 2011 4:00PM ET. Bob Dylan in Concert: Brandeis University 1963. Flashback: Bob Dylan and Joan Baez Duet for the Last Time. Hear Bob Dylan Rehearse ‘One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below)’ in 1975. Joan Baez Reflects on the End of Her Farewell Tour and What’s Next. The only bummer? The tape doesn’t start until partway through the opener, a rewrite of Henry Thomas’ Honey, Won’t You Allow Me One More Chance?
Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan are clearly two kindred spirits.

Why did the Self-Portrait 2lp got voted by poll for Dylan& worst album at that time when it was the best impression on him? I guess they pulled it to pieces for it& conceptional work - not being a "Hit Album" and the featured country musicians which were outdated in 1970. Just another example how hard critics can fail. Live 1966 "The Royal Albert Hall Concert" The Bootleg Series Vol. 4. "Please retry". I am pretty much done with my Dylan albums. The only ones I don't have is Self Portrait, (which I won't get because Bob did this album just to get rid of his fans & he hardly wrote any songs in it) and Knocked Out Loaded and Under the Red Sky (maybe a little later I'll get these last two) and maybe a couple of live ones I still. Now I want to look up and listen and honor Bruce Hornsby a little.
Album · 2004 · 19 Songs. He was wearing his Bob Dylan mask, he famously announced at this Halloween 1964 show, but he was actually opening up more and more of himself. This entry in The Bootleg Series finds Dylan revisiting hard-hitting protest classics ("The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll," "With God on Our Side") while presenting newer, less political songs from Another Side ("All I Really Want to Do," "To Ramona") and unreleased gems of both stripes ("Talkin' World War III Blues," "If You Gotta Go, Go Now").
Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota, United States) is an American musician, poet and artist whose position in popular culture is unique. Dylan started his musical odyssey in 1959 when he began playing in Dinkytown, Minneapolis while attending the University of Minnesota. Shortly after starting to play he changed his stage name to Bob Dylan, after being influenced by the poetry of Dylan Thomas before legally changing his name in 1962.
