The MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra is Leipzig's second largest symphony orchestra. Its current chief conductor is Kristjan Järvi. Mayhem's notorious album Live in Leipzig was also recorded at the Eiskeller club. Leipzig Pop Up is an annual music trade fair for the independent music scene as well as a music festival taking place on Pentecost weekend. Its most famous indie-labels are Moon Harbour Recordings (House) and Kann Records (elic). Several venues offer live music on a daily basis, including the Moritzbastei which was once part of the city's fortifications, and is one of the oldest student clubs in Europe with concerts in various styles. A cappella: vocal music festival, organized by the Ensemble amarcord. Bach-Fest: Johann Sebastian Bach-festival. Christmas market (since 1767).

The 50 Greatest Pieces of Classical Music is a selection of classical works recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor David Parry. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, Royal Festival Hall and Henry Wood Hall in London, the album was released in digital formats in November, 2009 and as a 4-CD set in 2011.

Celebratory Dignified/Noble Ethereal Gentle Reverent. Latvian Radio Choir, Sigvards Klava. Rautavaara: Missa a Cappella.

Seasonal A Cappella Choral Music (349). 2018's Top-Selling New Seasonal A Cappella Selections. Betelehemu arr. Andy Beck. This setting is arranged after the amazing Pentatonix version from the 2014 album That's Christmas to Me and may be sung a cappella or accompanied. Ideal for pop/jazz or concert choirs, the beautiful.

Credo Einojuhani Rautavaara; Latvian Radio Choir; Sigvards Klava. 4. Sanctus Einojuhani Rautavaara; Latvian Radio Choir; Sigvards Klava. 5. Benedictus Einojuhani Rautavaara; Latvian Radio Choir; Sigvards Klava.

For the Missa A Cappella alone, this album will likely become a seminal recording of Rautavaara's sacred choral repertoire. -John Guarente, Choral Journal, Nov 2014. As always with the Latvian Radio Choir under Sigvards Clava, the performances are gorgeous and radiant. One couldn't ask for more. The sound is excellent. Watch out: There's an earlier Ondine disc with some of the same pieces. One person found this helpful.

The earliest pieces recorded here-the Zwei Gesange - come from 1897, the year of Ein Heldenleben; the latest piece-Traumlicht, the second of the Drei Mannerchore - from 1935-36, those years in which Strauss was occupied with the operas Friedenstag and Daphne. The most extensive work here, and perhaps the most difficult to perform, is the Deutsche Motette.

A women's a cappella choral setting for this traditional Irish blessing. This piece should be performed with lots of freedom for tempo and dynamics. Ah the classic barbershop tune for this famous comedic group. Not for school or formal audiences, but college crowds would eat this up. Should be performed without vocal percussion.
