Millie Jackson is the self-titled debut album by singer-songwriter, Millie Jackson. This album is different from all her other album to follow in that this album features some Motown style songs. It includes the R&B hits "A Child of God (It's Hard to Believe)", "My Man, A Sweet Man" and "Ask Me What You Want. The album was arranged by Tony Camillo and Bert de Coteaux.

Mildred Virginia Jackson (born July 15, 1944), known professionally as Millie Jackson, is an American R&B and Soul singer-songwriter and former model. Beginning her career in the early 1960s, six of Jackson's albums have been certified gold by the RIAA for over 500,000 copies. Jackson vocal performances are often distinguished by long, humorous, and explicit spoken sections in her music, which she started doing on stage to get the attention of the audience.

Album: It Hurts So Good (1973). Charted: 24. Get the Sheet Music License This Song. Turn right around and Make sweet love to me Ooo wee, baby, you're Sure nuff good to me. Cause, baby, these Things you're doing to me It hurts so bad but It's worth all the misery Ooh, boy, please don't Ever take the hurt off me Cause it would hurt even worse If you would ever, ever leave (Oh, yes, it would). Even though sometimes It's hard for me to beg (This heart is killing me) I make myself hold out Cause if it kills me, I don't care

It Hurts So Good formed the centrepiece of Millie Jackson’s second Spring long player and indeed it gave the album its focus and title. The original LP’s now being re-issued on Ace’s Southbound imprint and collectors need to know that there’s a generous selection of bonus cuts. Amongst those bonuses is a previously unreleased mix of the title track. Why, Millie even wrings genuine passion out of John and Johanna Hall’s rock song, Two-Faced World. It’s proof, if ever it were needed, that the lady from Thompson, Georgia is right up there with all-time soul greats. Like Gladys Knight (whom she greatly admires), Aretha Franklin, Candi Staton and Patti Labelle, Millie Jackson has the ability to inhabit and possess any song. In many ways here work can provide the elusive aural definition of soul and the paradoxical catharsis that it inevitably involves.

Complete your Millie Jackson collection. Don't Send Nobody Else. When the track came on everyone in the house stopped what they were doing and listened in awe at the soundtrack and the lyrics. To this day about 30 years later i still am astounded by this track, The track needs to be recorded in history as one of the ground breaking statements.

And while some of the charts are a bit lacking, Jackson is solid throughout, especially on slow-burners like "Good to the Very Last Drop. A fine early offering from the diva of salacious sass.

I fell in love with Millie Jackson, when I had a wonderful assignment to provide private security (police) protection to her, at her side every step of the way. During her performance she removed my service cap and put it on her head and performed a few songs and listen I enshrined that cap! Ray Melton. I feel in love with her at 10 years old. josefina rebacca. I'm not complaining What you're doing, you see 'Cause this hurting feeling Is, ooh, so good to me. Don't you know that it Hurts so good Don't you know that it Hurts so good. You take my name Scandalize it in the streets Anything you wanna do or say Is alright with me.
