Atlantis is an album by American jazz musician Sun Ra and his Astro-Infinity Arkestra, released in 1969 by El Saturn Records. The album heavily features the "Solar Sound Instrument", a Hohner Clavinet. One of the four compositions which originally featured on Side 1 of the original release was substituted by a different piece for the 1973 reissue, though reusing the same name, "Yucatan". Both pieces appear on the later CD reissue.

All selections except track 4 were originally issued on the LP "Atlantis" (El Saturn 507). Track 4 was first issued on Impulse AS-9239. Tracks 1-5 were recorded in New York City between 1967 and 1969. Track 6 was recorded in New York City in 1969.

This album reveals two sides to Sun Ra and his Arkestra. Recorded in 1968 at the band’s Sun Studio headquarters in New York City, the first five tracks are drum-heavy affairs featuring multiple players on hand drums. While the band’s African music of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s was more exotica than accurate, the band’s friendship with Nigerian drummer Babatunde Olatunji had a major influence here. These tracks often also include the bandleader on a Hohner Clavinet (referred to as Solar Sound Instrument ), but not much in the way of horns.

Featuring the Astro Infinity Arkestra, Atlantis reveals two very distinct sides of Sun Ra's music. The first consists of shorter works Ra presumably constructed for presentation on the Hohner clavinet. Not only is the electric keyboard dominantly featured, but also it presumably offered Ra somewhat of a novelty as it had only been on the market for less than a year. However, Ra enthusiasts should rarely be surprised at his experiments in divergence. Mu" is presented at a lethargic tempo snaking in and around solos from Ra and a raga-influenced tenor sax solo from John Gilmore. Bimini" is actually captured in progress.
