Melissa Manchester (born February 15, 1951) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Since the 1970s, her songs have been carried by adult contemporary radio stations. She has also appeared on television, in films, and on stage. Manchester was born in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, to a musical family. Her father was a bassoonist for the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Melissa Manchester is the self-titled and the eighth album release by singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester issued on Arista Records the first week of October 1979.

The album was Manchester's first studio album since leaving Arista Records, her label for eight years, after her 1983 album Emergency. Signed to MCA Records, the album was a progression of that last album, in that it relied more on a synth-pop/new wave sound rather than on her earlier yled records.

In 2017, MELISSA celebrated her 45-year career with the release of her 21st album, The Fellas, a tribute to the iconic male singers who set the platinum standard for the music of the great American songbook.
