Complete your Cursor Miner collection. The lyrics (for tracks which feature lyrics) are clever and often humorous. These vocal tracks are typically very catchy and reminiscent of highest quality synth-pop of the late 1970's and early 1980's. The non-vocal tracks are glitchy and metallic. The impactOverall I simply love this record, both for the obvious referential quality that it carries and the inevitable originality (how many dance artists dare cross over into the pop arena?).

Cursor Miner’s debut album ‘Explosive Piece Of Mind’ is a proper electronic pop album with harmonies, razor sharp lyrics, songs, hooks and all those things you thought the laptop generation had left behind. And twisted, like if Lewis Carroll wrote lyrics for Gary Numan or Squarepusher. Cursor Miner was thrust from obscurity into critical acclaim with his tracks on last years Complete Death of Cool: Part II compilation

Aside from the junkyard rummage of the introductory "Scrapma" and the solemn tones of the closing "Brown Study," the debut album from Chichester, England's Cursor Miner is one of the less-deviant records to have seen release on Lo Recordings.

Cm’s first album Explosive Piece of Mind was released in 2002 to critical acclaim. A wild mixture of Beck, Bowie and Depeche Mode style songwriting, twisted beats and Autechre style noise excursions, this album seemed to bridge the divide between the dancefloor and the messed up innards of Tubb’s own mind. Cursor Miner has been dressed as a loon and shouting into his distorted vintage microphone all over Europe; in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Hungary, Czech Rep, Switzerland, Russia and more. Just released there’s a hectic downtempo EP with US label Addictech entitled Dressed as a Clown, plus the long awaited fourth album with Uncharted Audio Requires Attention waiting to be unleashed this year.

I really can't believe how few people on Discogs have this record! It's really a gem of an album. The lyrics (for tracks which feature lyrics) are clever and often humorous.
