If you're going to do a song called "Psychotic Girl," you may as well make it sound like it was bashed out by a couple of psychotic dudes. And the old-school blues-rock duo from Akron, Ohio, was more than happy to oblige. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney were bringing the garage-rock noise when people dismissed the sound as a fad, but by teaming up with Danger Mouse, they were still topping themselves with their fifth album. The album carried the torch for song-based hard rock awesomeness during the lean years of rap-rock, cribbing as much from the Beatles and glam-era Bowie as from avant-metal kin like The Melvins.
The Hardcore Yearmix 2003 was the first yearmix that got released on CD on the label Megarave Records. The original first version had 102 tracks but two tracks had to be taken out because they could not be cleared for release on CD. This original version will now see the light of day. A new 'Don't Try This At Home' segment, which was not included in the original mix, has been added. Hope you enjoy 'The Hardcore Yearmix 2003 - The Original Cut'! Other Versions (1 of 1) View All. The Billboard Hot 100 is a chart that ranks the best-performing songs in the United States, published by Billboard magazine. In the 2000s, each chart's "week ending" date was the Saturday of the following two weeks. The data were compiled by Nielsen SoundScan based collectively on each single's weekly physical (CD, vinyl and cassette) and digital sales, airplay, and streaming. Only physical sales were counted prior to 1998, when Billboard magazine incorporated airplay into its methodology.

The 2000s are distinct from the '90s as well, but this decade doesn't seem all that much different from the last one. Hell, basically every decade from 1890 on until the year 2000 have their own clear distinctiveness. Sure they were around in the mid to late 2000's but it wasnt until the 2010's that those things really took over our everyday lives. Just look at Blockbuster video. I mean, look who won rap album of the year: Kendrick Lamar! (Eminem did this to a point in 2000s, but there's actually a whole movement of the style of serious soulful rap that Eminem did in the 2000s throughout this era). All these generations are vastly different with vastly different talent.

- DJ Mix, Edited By [Re-Edited By] – Jason S
NotesThe ‘Hardcore Yearmix 2000’ was the first yearmix that was made by Jason S and it took him another year to get the format right on the 2001 edition. The biggest problem with the 2000 edition was it had too many breaks, the in- and outro were too long and it was not mastered correctly when too much bass was added to the final mix making it sound muddy.
For this re-edited cut the audio got cleaned up with some of the too low bass frequencies removed. All the breaks were also removed and some other edits were made. A new intro was created and the old intro and outro have been removed. Now it plays much more like the other yearmixes in the series and has a sharp run time of a little over 60 minutes.
