A quite nice release but with no techno anthems in here, like "Magic Orchestra" of b-sides II, or the excellent techno anthems "Moribund" and "Moral soundabuse" of b-sides IV (the best volume of b-sides series) but here the tracks have a more new-beatish feel, more of a past 1988-1989 attitude, still very enjoyable tracks. By the way i prefer the Remix of the "Tape" track by miles, than the original version here. That remix refined the tune imo.

All of Frank De Wulf's work is so short... Great tracks but not DJ friendly at all

Funny duck
Most Belgian techno tracks in those days were about 4 minutes long, you had to be quick... it's all about preparation and skills :)

The Darkness Revisited samples Anne Clark's Our Darkness (1984)

The copy i have of this is labeled correctly but has , foreign Trips ,The darkness Revistited on both sides.2 tracks on each side .Obviously a pressing mistake..Is there any more out there ???

This EP contains 'The Tape' which is one of my fave FDW tracks. It starts with a sample from Apocalypse now and follows with a fantastic spiralling loop which charachterises the track. Great use of a saxophone sample (which i usually hate in dance tracks) and rumbling bassline. More on the house tip rather than the big rave noises he likes to use. Every time i heard this one played out it was always played from the beginning unmixed. Still played by myself as it has dated very well.
