Kirk Lee Hammett (born November 18, 1962) is an American musician who has been lead guitarist and a contributing songwriter for the heavy metal band Metallica since 1983. Before joining Metallica he formed and named the band Exodus. In 2003, Hammett was ranked 11th on Rolling Stone's list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time . Hammett was born on November 18, 1962 in San Francisco, and raised in the town of El Sobrante, California. It was the first track and the first single on the band's self-titled album Metallica (also known as The Black Album), and was ranked 399th on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The bridge for "Creeping Death" was originally an Exodus riff that Hammett took with him to Metallica.
The band just released a gritty new track titled Oh My God from their forthcoming Welcome Home album, and the video for the song can be viewed below. The clip is a psychedelic one, directed by William Wombat Felch and second director of photography Sebastien Paquet. The video for the aggressive rocker finds Chad Gray running down the weather-beaten roads of a desert highway, while also shot as a bloody mess leaning into the camera. The little boy in me that was wild with fright Nobody came to my rescue when I called out that night So many times, so many tries so many cries for help in life But it’s too late no. h my god! I made a deal with the devil now the devils in my blood I’m the bullet he’s the gun Now the targets on your back and here I come I’m the bullet he’s the gun I made a deal with the devil now the devils in my blood I’m the bullet he’s the gun Now the targets.
His tutor eventually persuaded him that it was a good idea, and Evan formally joined. Because of the heavy touring schedule and his wish to spend more time with his family, drummer Bunker quit the group after the Aqualung album in May 1971, and was replaced by Barrie Barlow, whom Anderson rechristened "Barriemore". Barlow had first recorded with the band for the five-track EP Life Is a Long Song Anderson had become annoyed with music critics calling Aqualung a concept album, which he did not intend it to be.
