There are a couple of holdovers from 1965 on British Invasion: History of British Rock, Vol. 4, such as Gerry & the Pacemakers' "Ferry Cross the Mersey," but by and large the disc finds the British Invasion branching out as the second wave begins and the first wave finds new styles. There are more classic hits on this volume than any disc since the first, and the lesser-known cuts here are just as interesting.

Live Cream Volume II is the second live album by the British rock band Cream, released in March 1972 by Polydor Records (Atco Records in the US). This album contains six tracks recorded at various performances from 9 March to 4 October 1968.

This album really is a glorious celebration of everything that was great about rock music at the tail end of the 60s. An absolute classic. Pussy - Pussy Plays (Morgan Blue Town, 1969). Human Beast - Volume One (Deram, 1970). An often introspective album that drifts from heavy to surreal and various other places in-between. Mystic Man is a wah-wah odyssey featuring an other-worldly spoken mid-section over ritualistic percussion and backwards effects. Brush With The Midnight Butterfly has a seriously heavy Sabbath-type riff interspersed with free-form rhythms. A true gem of British underground music from the period, Comus were neither prog nor psych, but more dark folk. Listening to First Utterance is like entering a different and strange world. The lyrics of Roger Wootton are very visual in a nightmarish, almost medieval way.
