Walker was born Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr. on June 14, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas, and grew up in South Bend, Indiana. CD collection beautifully reproduces excitement of group's sound. It is indeed an excellent but not great remastering effort. that stirred a lot of fond memories for me, of happier times gone by) Dynamics, and Walker's sax remain at forefront but there is restricted depth of field to songs' presentations. Johnny Bristol correctly perceived that audiences were now looking for a bit of a softer sound. The results were a handful of terrific singles that included the group's biggest hit of all-time "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)" from the summer of '69 as well as tunes like "Gotta Hold On To This Feeling" and a clever and pleasing reworking of the Guess Who's "These Eyes".
