Wallpaper for the Soul is the second studio album by French indie pop band Tahiti 80, released on Minty Fresh in 2002. It peaked at number 86 on the CMJ Radio 200 chart. As of 2003, it has sold 130,000 copies worldwide.

Following that, Xavier Boyer selected songs for a compilation called "A Piece of Gold" on behalf of the band.

They claim that this disc isn't as significant, beautiful, or emotional as the title implies. My retort is that, if anything, Tahiti 80 might be understating their power and craft, and their critics have missed the point. We'll all agree that wallpaper isn't always the prettiest or the classiest form of interior design but it sure as hell carries its own level of warmth and comfort and beats plain white walls.

Wallpaper for the Soul. This song is by Tahiti 80 and appears on the album Wallpaper For The Soul (2002). Wallpaper for the soulTo keep away from the black holeIn my heart there's plenty of roomFor everyone to kill the gloomDon't worry too much about what to sayThe words would have come anyway. Follow meTo the house of the free. Wallpaper for the soulLike the one stoleA long time ago. Wallpaper for the soulSeeing life through the keyholeAnd you don't want to go.

Wallpaper for the soul To keep away from the black hole In my heart there's plenty of room For everyone to kill the gloom Don't worry too much about what to say The words would have come anyway. Follow me To the house of the free. Wallpaper for the soul Like the one stole A long time ago. Wallpaper for the soul Seeing life through the keyhole And you don't want to go. A piece of sunshine a piece a of gold Like a secret never told. A piece of sunshine a piece of gold Wallpaper for the soul. In your heart ther's plenty of room For everyone to kill the gloom. haha, but I'm not quite sure how that exactly fits in with the music! O o.

Tahiti 80, for those unfamiliar with their debut record, Puzzle, come down squarely on the side of the latter. The single off that record, "Heartbeat", met with some success at college radio, enough so that news of the release of their follow-up LP was greeted in some quarters with the desirable "much-anticipated" modifier. However, Wallpaper for the Soul, a 12-song collection issued on Minty Fresh, the same label that released their debut, runs afoul of the dualistic pop paradigm discussed above on the first song, the title track from the record.
