John Delafose played an old-school button organ and sang his heart out as he led The Eunice Playboys, and his son Geno carries on the family tradition today. Born in Duralde LA in 1939, John Delafose showed an early interest in the music he heard around him. This enterprising kid made his own fiddle from a cigar box and some wire, and he also took up the harp.

John Delafose and his band the Eunice Playboys bridged the gap between zydeco's roots and its contemporary sound with a mastery matched by few of their peers; despite an affinity for early Creole styles. ead Full Biography.
