In 2012 Sydney based shoegaze band The Laurels released their debut album 'Plains'. A dreamy and hazy proof of concept, it took what the band had established on their riff-laden wall of noise EP 'Mesozoic' and refined their sound into an articulate contemporary shoegaze benchmark. Four years and a line-up change later, they’ve regrouped with 'Sonicology' - an album that’s further developed their understanding of recording and production by delving into new and unexpected territory.
