Eubanks performing at the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Festival. Background information. Kevin Tyrone Eubanks. It led to a seven-album contract with the GRP label and four albums for Blue Note. In total, Eubanks has appeared on over 100 albums. In 2001, he founded the label Insoul Music on which he has released six albums. In 1992, Eubanks moved to the West Coast to play guitar in The Tonight Show Band. He composed "Kevin's Country," the closing theme music for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In 1995, he replaced Branford Marsalis as leader of the band. When NBC moved Leno's show from late night to prime time, Eubanks moved with the band to continue conducting music for the short-lived The Jay Leno Show. East West Time Line (Mack Avenue, 2017).

Guitarist Kevin Eubank was musical director of The Tonight Show until 2010, and his new album is a very fine piece of work indeed, with versions of Duke Ellington and Marvin Gaye's What's Goin' O. Former Tonight Show band-leader Kevin Eubanks: happy to play guitar on two coasts of the USA when the band is right.

East West Time Line 2017. What's Going On. East West Time Line 2017. In 2010, Eubanks left The Tonight Show shortly after Leno returned to host it again. That same year, Eubanks delivered the album Zen Food on Mack Avenue Records, and in 2012 he returned with his second Mack Avenue release, the stylistically eclectic The Messenger. Eubanks then paired up with innovative fellow guitarist/pianist Stanley Jordan for the eclectic 2015 covers album Duets. Two years later, he delivered the expansive East West Time Line, featuring appearances by saxophonist Bill Pierce, drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts, bassist Dave Holland, trumpeter Nicholas Payton, and others
