In 2007, the Blow Monkeys reunited with their original lineup intact and released Devil's Tavern in 2008. Still a sultry live band, they recorded Travelin' Souls: Live! at the Legendary 100 Club in 2009 for a 2010 CD/DVD package. While Dr. Robert continued to release solo material, the group issued studio albums Staring at the Sea in 2011, Feels Like a New Morning in 2013, and If Not Now, When? in 2015, all showcasing a part-rock, part-swing sound reminiscent of their '80s days

The Blow Monkeys - He& Shedding Skin (Live) Lyrics. There's no reason to be sad Or wallow in your misery Somewhere in the city Far away from here When the light of life turns sour We can spend. There's no reason to be sad Or wallow in your misery Somewhere in the city Far away from here When the light of life turns sour We can spend our final hour My melancholy friend. The deep and haunted cavern Is our temporary heaven It's not hard to see So drink up and take your desire By the morning your brain is on fire With a wealth of possibilities I see no reason to resist this.

In 1984, they released their debut album, Limping for a Generation, but their first hit came two years later, in 1986, with "Digging Your Scene", from their second album, Animal Magic (which reached number 21 in the UK Albums Chart). The single attracted attention for the topical lyrics, dealing with the AIDS-fuelled backlash against gay people. It peaked at number 14 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and number 7 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. In addition, it reached a high of number 12 in the UK Singles Chart, number 24 in Italy and number 25 in Germany.
