Seu Jorge, America Brasil. Now, for those confused about his identity, comes a new album that is both inventive, commercial and still distinctively Brazilian, despite the title and despite the blues, rock and funk influences mixed in with the samba. The opening America do Norte shows what he can do. It's a furious, stirring song driven by a simple but effective rhythmic backing from the ukulele-like cavaquinho and squeaky cuica drum, with some wild violin work from Jr Gaiotto, who calms down a little to provide the bluesy harmonica on the second track.

Cru is a 2004 album by Seu Jorge first released in France on September 21, 2004 by parisian independent label Fla-Flu (Favela Chic) with the record company Naïve. This was his second album to be released outside his native Brazil, the first being Carolina. Many of the songs on the album are covers such as "Chatterton", written by Serge Gainsbourg and "Don't" by Leiber & Stoller.

His album 'América Brasil' had a limited Brazilian release in 2007 under his label Cafuné Gravadora, distributed in the UK by Proper Music Distribution. In May 2010, Now-Again Records announced that Jorge's new album, Seu Jorge & Almaz, a collaboration with drummer Pupillo and guitarist Lucio Maia from Nação Zumbi and bassist and composer Antonio Pinto would be released in North America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand on July 27 and in Europe on September 14. The album has been described as "how powerful Brazilian soul music can b. In 2011, he collaborated.
