Deep Drone Master by The Deathtrip, released 18 November 2014 1. Intro 2. Flag of Betrayal 3. Dynamic Underworld 4. Sewer Heart 5. Making Me 6. Cocoons 7. Cosmic Verdict 8. Something Growing In The Trees 9. A Foot In Each Hell 10. Syndebukken "Where mortality becomes a frozen pyre"! The cosmic voice of Aldrahn from Dœdheimsgard and Zyklon B has been set free to echo once again! Those riffs! That voice! A frozen chill we have all been missing! Early 90s-era cold Norwegian style minimalist black metal mixed and brought back from the dead by scene originator Snorre Ruch, from the legend.

Bolt Thrower - War Master (Full Album). Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas 1994. Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale (full album).

One of Deep Drone Master ’s most striking drawbacks is definitely the drum sound and its overall mixing. The drums certainly lack punch and depth which is something that makes the overall sound less poweful. I acknowledge that this was probably done on purpose; a cold, mechanic approach is probably what Snorre Ruch was going after, although I strongly believe that if the snare and the bass drums had some actual depth and bass in them the listening experience would be a lot better. The Deathtrip Deep Drone Master.

Deep Drone Master is a very old school black metal album, there’s no doubt about it. But neither is it a soulless carbon copy either. No, this is 90’s black metal taking a mature step forward. There were a few bands that initially popped into my head as influences when listening to the album. Darkthrone (across their eras), Carpathian Forest, Gorgoroth, even certain aspects of Khold and Tulus. This style matches The Deathtrip’s music perfectly, and Aldrahn’s vocals are truly one of the album’s many highlights. While those Nocturno Culto-styled vocals do dominate his performance, he does occasionally drift back to his more traditional vocals in songs like Syndebukken. I don't consider there to be any filler on Deep Drone Master. Every track is there for a reason and of solid quality.

TRUE... SPIRIT of real NORSE BLACK METAL underground is ALIVE!!! One of a few REALLY WORTH Black Metal outbreaks [not without sincere "Darkthrone" rip-off] of the last decade. Mr.Aldrahn's howling is soooo nightmarish... A MUST for the worshippers of the genre.

One listening of the album was enough to make me ''travel'' to the early/mid '90s. Black metal, the way it used to be descent and to culminate. The album is a great reminder of how this music should feel. ''For the remnants & those who walked before'', that says everything. Proceed without hesitation...
