Gone Troppo was, even by George Harrison's uneven solo standards, a notable flop. Blame might fall on an aging target audience, to Harrison's refusal to promote it, to his quarrelsome label, to MTV-era production missteps. Despite having spent a lengthy period tangling with Warners Bros. Harrison had found a new center within his marriage and the birth of a child. Instead, Gone Troppo - which Harrison never toured behind - sunk to the bottom of his discography as the last, ever-forgotten album on a miserable contract. With George puttering around at home, the story was that his brother – a gardener at the Harrison estate – didn’t even know that Gone Troppo had been issued.

Circles" is a song by English rock musician George Harrison, released as the final track of his 1982 album Gone Troppo. The theme of the lyrics is reincarnation. The composition reflects the cyclical aspect of human existence as, according to Hindu doctrine, the soul continues to pass from one life to the next.

Gone Troppo is the 10th studio album by George Harrison, recorded and released in 1982. It would be Harrison's last studio album for five years, during which he largely took an extended hiatus from his recording career, with only the occasional soundtrack recording surfacing. By the early 1980s, Harrison had been finding the current musical climate alienating.

Then came the disastrous Gone Troppo, a half-baked affair led by the minor single "Wake Up My Love" that failed to make the Top 100 LPs. Clearly, Harrison could no longer treat his musical career as a part-time stepchild to his interests in car racing and movie producing if he wanted to maintain it. As it turned out, he didn't; this was his last album for five years.

I think BeatleBeatle has simply listened to a best of George Harrison album and from that source deduced that four of George's best songs came off of this album. Dream Away was written for the Time Bandit's soundtrack and means nothing. The most beautiful song on the album, in my opinion, is Mystical One. I will admit that That's the Way it Goes is a great politically charged and timely song, a defining style of George's. Gone Troppo the title song is humourous but not enjoyable. The Loud One (August 17, 2005). Believe me: this one is an undiscovered goodie!
