On The Street Where You Live. The Liveliest At the Basin Street East. Авторы текста и музыки. Alan Jay Lerner, Frederick Loewe.
I have often walked on this street before But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before All at once am I several stories high Knowing I'm on the street where you live. Are there lilac trees in the heart of town? Can you hear a lark in any other part of town? Does enchantment pour out of every door? No, it's just on the street where you live. Oh, the towering feeling Just to know somehow you are near The overpowering feeling That any second you may suddenly appear

While Vic Damone was always a pleasant and talented singer, he wasn't particularly hip or jazz-influenced in the way Frank Sinatra was. That said, he always surrounded himself with excellent musicians and swinging arrangements that made the best of his abilities. EMI's two-fer On The Street Where You Live/The Liveliest combines two of Damone's best albums. Similarly, The Liveliest is a stellar live club date from '63 at Basin Street East in New York City. Starting coolly with a dramatic version of "You and the Night and the Music," Damone really shines on the Scott Walker-esque ballad "What Kind of Fool Am I?" Track Listing.
The CD ends very well with Vic Damone performing a live rendition of "On the Street Where You Live" from his engagement at Basin Street East. I love it! Vic Damone never let his fans down. His live performances were nothing short of electric; this CD proves it. I highly recommend this album for Vic's fans; and people who enjoy classic pop vocals will cherish this CD for years to come. One person found this helpful. The REAL treat on this CD is the second album, The Liveliest: At Basin Street East. This is a small club date Vic Damone recorded in 1963. Being a live date, the songs range from swingers to ballads, to small jazzy combos.
