Joey Anderson will release his debut album on Dekmantel this April. To date the New Jersey artist's elegant style of house has appeared on labels like Latency, UntilMyHeartStops, Deconstruct Music and his own Inimeg Recordings. His career was famously given a shot in the arm by Levon Vincent, who opened his fabric 63 mix with Anderson's "Earth Calls. Every track on the album has its own take on my personality, my mentality musically and my vision of off-dancefloor music," Anderson says. I find it very difficult to create something for people just to like. Before being approached, my mind was nowhere near the idea of an album, or constructing one. After I was approached by Dekmantel I began to think about it. I went back and forth mentally, then I decided, why not?
Born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, house producer Joey Anderson created a buzz in the underground dance music world with his deep, spacy tracks that recall Detroit techno pioneers such as Underground Resistance as well as fellow cosmic explorers like Hieroglyphic Being. Growing up immersed in the early house music scene as a dancer, he began to teach dancing classes, and eventually began producing music, initially releasing tracks on DJ Qu's Strength Music Recordings during the late 2000s.

Format: All Vinyl CD DJ Equipment Studio Equipment. Another fine year for Dekmantel ends with the welcome arrival of Invisible Switch, a second album from US techno artist Joey Anderson. His is a unique and at times alien take on the artform, crafting percussive textures and oddly intoxicating synth lines that sound unmistakably like Joey Anderson and no others. This is very much the case with Invisible Switch, with tracks like "Reset" and "Tell Us Where" instantly gripping your attention and not letting go, whilst "Amarna" is the most bludgeoningly intense production yet from Anderson. The EOY list compilers will.
Joey and the Pro Era crew haven’t released a project as a collective since 2014. That year, the group dropped The Secc$ Ta. 2 mixtape and an EP titled The Shift. While Joey has been fairly quiet since 2017’s ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ album, Pro Era was quite active last year. Kirk Knight, Chuck Strangers and Dirty Sanchez all dropped projects over the course of 2018.
