The Alarm are a Welsh alternative rock/new wave band that formed in Rhyl, Wales, in 1981. By opening for acts such as U2 and Bob Dylan, they became a popular alternative rock band of the 1980s. They retain a loyal following.
In 2002 Peters reformed The Alarm, and sold an on-line subscription of 5 cds and 50+ songs named the In The Poppyfields Bond released over the course of 6 months, and then let fans vote for the song-list that would finally appear on the the 2004 album In The Poppy Fields. Just last year Peters did the same thing with an 8 CD collection of EPs that will ultimately form the basis of two (possibly) albums to be released later this year. The music industry is supposedly dying, yet Mitch Easter and Mike Peters have found a way to make their own music and make it commercially viable at the same time? The situation confirms something that I have felt for a long time: the record industry is not only broken, but may simple be unnecessary (almost) in the 21st century. I suppose there must be some sort of mass consciousness at work that makes some things rise above the fray, and it’s never been fair, anyway.
The Alarm - Mike Peters. Last updated: 23 January 2009. Mike Peters is best known as the lead singer with one of Wales' most successful rock music exports, The Alarm, but when the band split up in 1991, he went on to solo success. In 1981 Seventeen became The Alarm, and moved to London to try and make it. Under the wing of The Police's manager Miles Copeland, they began touring extensively, building up a fanbase in Britain and America. The hard work paid off, and their single 68 Guns became a chart success. From there the band went on to score several successive hits on both the single and album charts
Peters and the members of the Alarm - featuring a three-piece version of the current lineup with guitarist James Stevenson (moonlighting on bass for the current tour in place of regular bassist Craig Adams) and drummer Steve Smiley Barnard - are knocking down a heavy load of more than 40 dates spread across two months. Along the way, he found plenty of musicians on the tour who were fans of his group. Even members of GWAR acknowledged their affinity for the Alarm.
Alarm, The. Название : For Freedom (Live KBFH). What have we learnt is this all we can show There must be a better way to end the day. We& got to stand now and push on through to the other side We must not blind our eyes Or listen to the devil liar. Now we& the nation of many colours But everybody& blood runs red Cut our wrists and bind together Too much blood has been spilt in hate. Do it now for your children & their lives are yet to come Do it now for you own sakes FOR FREEDOM.
