Mort Aux Vaches (English: Death to Cows) is Tim Hecker's fourth release. 3. Ravedeath, 1972 – Ravedeath,1972 is the sixth studio album by Canadian electronic music musician Tim Hecker, released on February 14,2011 by Kranky. Musically sparse, the album was recorded primarily in Frikirkjan Church, Reykjavík, the albums central theme is of the degradation of music itself.

I could only make out one composition that I had heard before on the three CDs of his I own. Sounds similar to "Mirages", while looking back to "Haunt Me" and "Radio Amor. If you are a Hecker fan, this release is definitely worth hunting down. Supposedly limited to 1000 copies, but my copy is unnumbered so there may be a few more out there. Reply Notify me 4 Helpful.

Tim Hecker fans, beware: his contribution to Staaplaat's Mort aux Vaches series is significantly quieter than his previous opuses. That being said, it is also one of his sleekest releases. His live set for the Dutch national radio VPRO consists of a continuous 41-minute piece.

The only disappointment here is the cheap packaging (thin composite plastic page, CD is held in place by a punch fastener). Very flimsy. Music: Awesome.
