But that didn't stimulate the album's sales enough to keep Columbia Records from dropping Bonoff. Beyond the commercial considerations, though, Bonoff's original songs, which made up the bulk of the album, simply were not up to the standard set by her debut, and Wild Heart Of The Young was the weakest of her three Columbia Records albums.

Karla Bonoff's third album 1982's Wild Heart of The Young is a great album that should have gotten bigger than it had, even while producing only one hit: the album's opener "Personally. Bonoff has written most of the album, with lyrics straight from her heart. The last song "Dream" really stood out of the crowd, a soft and soothing way to end her album.

CHORUS I loved you like I'll never love another With the wild heart of the young But it took until now to uncover Oh, if I'd only known it then. You spoke of the dream we made come true I remember how I looked up to you It was there in your touch You knew so much. Well, they watched while you broke all the rules And everyone thought I was your fool But I paid the price Never even thought twice. If I thought about all the loves I knew I know they'd all fade except for you And someday you'll see how much you taught me. More on Genius
