Bye Bye My Blue Tracklist. 1. Bye Bye My Blue Lyrics.

Bye Bye Blackbird" is a feel-good song; it was written in 1926 by composer Ray Henderson and lyricist Mort Dixon. According to Don Tyler in his 2007 book Hit Songs 1900-1955: American Popular Music of the Pre-Rock Era, it was Henderson's third hit of the year. First popularized by Eddie Cantor, this standard has been recorded by numerous artists. John Coltrane also performed a near 18-minute jazz rendition on his album Bye Bye Blackbird, which earned him a posthumous Grammy Award in 1982 for Best Jazz Solo Performance. Peggy Lee's version is featured in Peter Jackson's 2005 remake of King Kong. More songs from Eddie Cantor.

Shakin' Catalano’s instantly recognizable, powerful and dynamic tenor playing - yet at the same time nimble and thoughtful - is on full display on Bye Bye Blackbird. To stay true to his Chicago roots, the album pays homage to his heroes and mentors Von Freeman - affectionately known throughout Chicago as Vonski - and Eddie Harris.

Crosby, Stills & Nash is the first album by Crosby, Stills & Nash, released in 1969 on the Atlantic Records label. It spawned two Top 40 hit singles, "Marrakesh Express" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," which peaked respectively at the week of August 23, 1969, and at the week of December 6, 1969, on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The album itself peaked at on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. It was certified four times platinum by the RIAA for sales of over 4,200,000.

There is symmetry in the organization of the album, with "Bye Bye Blackbird" opening and the trio's equally jaunty "Blackbird, Bye Bye" closing the album, and the interior tracks immediately following the former and preceding the latter are "You Won't Forget Me" and "I Thought About Yo. The centerpiece of the CD is an group improvisation, "For Miles," which after some DeJohnette tumbling around becomes a dirge sometimes reminiscent of Miles' own elegy for Duke Ellington, "He Loved Him Madly.
