The Mars ocean hypothesis states that nearly a third of the surface of Mars was covered by an ocean of liquid water early in the planet’s geologic history. This primordial ocean, dubbed Paleo-Ocean and Oceanus Borealis, would have filled the basin Vastitas Borealis in the northern hemisphere, a region which lies 4–5 km (. –3 miles) below the mean planetary elevation, at a time period of approximately . –3.

Ocean of Sound is a 1996 compilation album compiled and produced by English musician and author David Toop. The two-disc, cross-licensed "various artists" compilation contains 32 tracks culled from a variety of musical sources, including dub, exotica, free jazz, and field recordings. Toop compiled the recordings to serve as both a historical survey of ambient music and an aural companion to his 1995 book Ocean of Sound: Aether Talk, Ambient Sound and Imaginary Worlds.

Literally hundreds of instruments passed through his hands in the Eighties alone, from the trusty black 1972 Les Paul Custom that he used to record the band’s early albums to various Kramers, Charvels and Hamers in every imaginable shape. I love the sound of its two mini-humbucker pickups. They have a lot of character and sound different than my other guitars. Mars’ main stage guitars are heavily modified Strats with custom-wound 16k-ohm humbuckers made by . Rolph in the neck and bridge positions, a middle single-coil and a locking Floyd Rose tremolo.

A collection of music to accompany David Toop's book, "Ocean Of Sound".

Their third album, From Mars to Sirius, also had a message as heavy as its music: Ocean Planet and Flying Whales address ecology, and sea metaphors and themes of marine-mammal preservation rounded out the band’s massive, natural sound. An immediate hit in their native France, the band soon became spokespeople for environmental causes and Joe became the country’s first bona fide guitar hero in decades. Elsewhere, Images laid out the various sides of the band’s musical personality, from anthemic prog rock ( Take the Time ) to racing, metal-tinged workouts ( Under a Glass Moon ) and New Age–y power balladry ( Another Day ). Taking that a few steps further, White Zombie nabbed their aesthetic and even some of their sound from horror movies, sprinkling their songs with choice snippets of dialogue and a few well-chosen screams.

Check out Mick Mars's gear and equipment including the Fender Stratocaster (Duplicate), Fender Stratocaster (Duplicate), and Fender Modified Mid-Sixties Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar. Throughout the earlier years of Crue, specifically through the Girls Girls Girls era, Mars could be seen weilding an assortment of Kramer guitars. Most prodominantly a pair of Kramer Tele guitars with tits painted on the back of them and reading Girls Girls Girls across the top. He would also use a version of the Kramer Tele with a mirror plating.

Does anyone know if this album is gapless? (asking for a friend)

Brilliant! I gather it was conceived as an overview of the capabilities of the electric guitar in different hands.the result is an awesome Rock'n'roll compilation with all the heart and power of that Genre at its best, disc 1 is the more punchy and witty, and disc 2 the experimental.Virgins Ambient Series has been a delight

Is this album gapless like the first Ocean of Sound? (asking for a friend)
