The atmosphere Merkaba manages to create here is what makes this album stand out for me. When I listen to it, I find myself hovering over vast, mountainous woodlands, running wild between the trees, witnessing a moonlight procession along the river - whatever it is that I am experiencing during the songs, it always is something otherworldly. It is something that many atmospheric black metal projects are aiming to achieve, but what few really do. Merkaba did. And they did it well.
