Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy is the ninth studio album by Elton John. It was released in May 1975 by MCA in America and DJM in the UK. It debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200, the first album to do so, reportedly selling . million copies in its first 4 days of release, and stayed in that position for seven weeks.

An autobiographical album that charted Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s rise to fame, ‘Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy’ is a companion to ‘Rocketman’. Published on. July 5, 2019. The attractive package, and a compelling array of quintessential 70s pop-rock imagery, helped take Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy straight to the top of the US chart. It stayed there for a total of seven weeks, immediately turning gold. In 1993, it was certified triple platinum.

Brown Dirt Cowboy, still green and growing. Грязно-Коричневый Ковбой, все еще зеленый мальчишка, City slick Captain. Фантастический Капитан, городской. Fantastic the feedback. Пижон, нашли контакт, The honey the hive could be holding. Out for the count and when we're down. Изнемогали и были подавлены, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Фантастический Капитан и Грязно-Коричневый Ковбой, From the end of the world to your town.

Explore the music of Elton John. Elton’s ninth studio album was an unquestionable critical and commerical smash. It entered the Billboard Top 200 Chart at the spot, something no album had ever done before, was nominated for two Grammys: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance – Male, and has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA. In 2012, it placed at on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. aptain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy5:46.

Sitting atop the charts in 1975, Elton John and Bernie Taupin recalled their rise to power in Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, their first explicitly conceptual effort since Tumbleweed Connection. It's no coincidence that it's their best album since then, showcasing each at the peak of his power, as John crafts supple, elastic, versatile pop and Taupin's inscrutable wordplay is evocative, even moving. The album needs time to reveal its treasures, but once it does, it rivals Tumbleweed in terms of sheer consistency and eclipses it in scope, capturing John and Taupin at a pinnacle. They collapsed in hubris and excess not long afterward - Rock of the Westies, which followed just months later is as scattered as this is focused - but this remains a testament to the strengths of their creative partnership.

Elton John can be a master of the sleight of hand. The arrangements make it seem like there are substantial melodies underneath the tracks - but almost nothing demands repeated listenings. Similarly, he always sounds like he’s singing up a storm, but his voice glosses over the material, reducing most things to an uninteresting sameness. More importantly, his music is often devoid of noteworthy emotional content. That problem can’t be talked about without bringing up the controversial lyrics of his collaborator, Bernie Taupin. In This Article: Elton John.

For Captain Fantastic, he and Taupin wrote a concept album which sketches their career together. Someone Saved My Life Tonight" is easily the strongest song outside of the concept. The addition of several songs "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" featuring John Lennon, "Philadelphia Freedom," and "One Day at a Time" blow the concept but up the entertainment value considerably.

The 1975 album "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" was recorded in the summer of 1974 at Caribou Ranch in Colorado, USA. Gus Dudgeon, producer. It is an autobiographical album, the songs telling the story of Elton John and Bernie Taupin's struggling years as songwriters, leading to their success in 1970
