Oh wait, after all that, forgot to note that I wish this compilation had No. 13 Baby on it, but it doesn’t so I guess I have to now go drop the big bucks on the MoFi Doolittle after all.

Kazijora
This is one of the best sounding records in my collection. If you’re even a casual fan of Pixies it’s well worth the sticker price of (usually) under $30. Maybe there’s a negative stigma out there around vinyl reissues of Greatest Hits compilations from the 90s and 00s that were originally issued on CD. So if you were flipping past this thinking you’ll one day splurge and drop the 200 quid on MoFi pressings of Surfer Rosa, Doolittle and Bossa Nova, my advice is just buy this for now and start enjoying these tunes again right away. Life’s too short, and your hearing’s the first thing to ‘go’, sadly. Chances are you’ve got a much better setup for sound now than you did when your buddy taped these albums for you in 92 and you played the shit out of it on your Sanyo shelf-saver mini-system with auto rewind. I’m ranting now. 5 stars for the folks at 4AD on this pressing.

didn't know this band in its days but was always intrigued and bought this [email protected] Red Cat. i read the other reviews here and thought it's worth a flyer, i'm NOT disappointed.even at first listen i'm addicted to "monkeys to heaven" and a couple of others.vinyl is great, very very quiet with good dynamics, nice bass and all that other hifi stuff we like.

When Pixies hit their mark they are essentially an unstoppable sonic powerhouse, and every cut on this 'Best Of' comp is stellar. Must agree with the earlier reviewer in terms of the sound quality on this double LP set being top notch. Couple that with every track being a classic, and you have a sweet little package.

Fordrellador
Is there really only 750 copies of this? How's it not worth a small fortune?

happy light
Just got a copie for Christmas - sounds fantastic, both discs are orange

Tiainar
Amazing sound, absolutely worth it. Never heard pixies in a nicer rendering compared to Cd.

ZloyGenii
Both orange for me, they look great! Great compilation and sound.

Arlelond
The original CD had a version of Hey that was truncated. Stores were shipped new versions of the CD within weeks and the new one had a sticker stating that it "includes 'Hey" Full Length Version'. Everything else was the same (barcode etc) as the first print.

Quemal
I have the black Disc 1 and orange Disc 2 thing too.

Brariel
Me too

Nikojas
Both orange for me...

Adoraris
Same for me too. Surely normal

Saberblade
If you are talking about the colour thing then no, it is not normal. They are supposed to be orange both of them. Look at the last image. That is how they are supposed to look like. (mine does). Either it's a fuck up at the factory or a new repress in two different colours.

Dugor
Both should be orange, my copy is. Seems like they had more they had more orange copies of the 2nd disc pressed.

Mave
The same as mine. Side A and B is Black, C and D is Orange.

Alsardin
One disc is black, the other one orange. Should it be like that, or both should be orange?

Voodoosida
No, I bought it from a record shop as new (the shop only sells new vinyl, the condition was mint, and otherwise it was apparent that it was new, and there were no other copies on stock). It was not shrinkwrapped, but in a massive protective plastic thingy. Catalog numbers of the Orange and Black releases ARE the same, so probably if it is a combination and not in fact another release then it was probably combined during manufacturing. Problem is there is no way to confirm really (at least as long as other users have the same phenomenon).

AGAD
Maybe you might have a marriage of the limited orange and the regular UK black vinyl release, as the catalogue numbers are the same. Did you buy it from a private seller ?

SmEsH
Do you think it should be a different release, then?

Anararius
My copy both discs are orange.
