Raoul and the Kings of Spain is the fifth studio album by the British pop-rock band Tears for Fears, released on 10 October 1995. Like the band's previous album, Elemental (1993), it is essentially a solo effort by Roland Orzabal-neither album being made with the involvement of Curt Smith, who had left the band at that time. The album, according to Orzabal, has a recurring theme of familial relationships and delves into his own Spanish heritage

The album features a return by Oleta Adams, who duets with Roland Orzabal on the track 'Me and My Big Ideas'. Includes a picture booklet containing sleevenotes by Malcolm Dome, a new interview with Roland Orzabal and a track by track run-down. This is one of Tears for Fears (essentially Roland Orzabal supporting by Alan Griffith and a terrific group of session players) finest albums. As much as I liked "Elemental" that album had some filler on it and this is a stronger, more solid album. Musically rich and diverse, Orzabal makes up for the absence of Curt Smith's sweet sounding soulful vocals by bringing in Oleta Adams who contributed to "Seeds of Love"

Disc: 1. I bought this album about four years back, and I really liked it, but not as much as Elemental or Seeds of Love at the time, because it wasn't as big in sound, that Tears for Fears sound I'm used to. But that changed after repeated listenings It was a little more understated. Roland's vocals, also, are a little more understated. But after repeated listening over the first year, I found I always listened to this CD more than Elemental, Seeds of Love, SFTBC. It is almost a concept album, and I love throwing this on at home and listening.
