V-J Day in Times Square (also V-Day and The Kiss) is a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt that portrays a . Navy sailor grabbing and kissing a stranger-a woman in a white dress-on Victory over Japan Day ("V-J Day") in New York City's Times Square on August 14, 1945. The photograph was published a week later in Life magazine, among many photographs of celebrations around the United States that were presented in a twelve-page section titled "Victory Celebrations".
Understand this, I’m not looking for true love tonight If you wanna be my little baby You can meet me in the pale moonlight I been workin’ every day 8 to 9 and Serving coke and fries at the movie blue drive-in If you want me, you know where to find me. I can be your one time baby I can be your little dairy queen I don’t wanna care tonight, I don’t wanna fight You don’t have to give me anything Just put your sweet kiss, kiss on my lips now, baby. Understand this, I been likin’ you since I was small I don’t wanna get you runnin’ scared When there’s no pressure there.

James Andrew (Jimmy) Rushing (August 26, 1901 - June 8, 1972) was an American blues shouter from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He joined Walter Page's Blue Devils in 1927, then joined Bennie Moten's band in 1929. He stayed with the successor Count Basie band when Moten died in 1935. When the Basie band broke up in 1950 he briefly retired, then formed his own group. His build earned him a nickname and a signature song, "Mr. Five by Five" ("he's five feet tall and he's five feet wide").
