The In Crowd is a live album by the Ramsey Lewis Trio which was recorded in 1965 at the Bohemian Caverns nightclub in Washington . and released on the Argo label. The album provided Lewis with his biggest hit reaching the top position on the Billboard R&B Chart and No. 2 on their top 200 albums chart in 1965 and the single, "The 'In' Crowd" reaching No. 2 on the R&B Chart and No. 5 on the Hot 100 singles chart in the same year.

Complete sua coleção de The Ramsey Lewis Trio. This album starts off with a Hard Days Night and you get an eye roll from me. Then you can hear something, the Lighthouse crowd is singing along and you give in also. They bite and you got em. Every song you can hear someone say something like 'alright' in the middle of a track or 'oh that's nice' at the end. You know why Argo liked recording live.

Ramsey Emmanuel Lewis Jr. (born May 27, 1935) is an American jazz composer, pianist and radio personality. Ramsey Lewis has recorded over 80 albums and has received five gold records and three Grammy Awards so far in his career. Ramsey Lewis was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Ramsey Lewis Sr. and Pauline Lewis. He began taking piano lessons at the age of four. Lewis would eventually join a jazz group called the clefs.

Following some early commercial success, the Ramsey Lewis trio recorded the album "Hang On Sloopy," featuring some great jazz covers of pop tunes and standards. This CD reissue was released in 1998, but I believe it was originally recorded in late 1965. This is a live recording, and an audience can be heard applauding during each song. Hang On Sloopy" is also noteworthy because it is the trio's last recording with Eldee Young and Red Holt as members, who would soon leave to pursue their own musical careers.

Ramsey Lewis, drummer Isaac "Redd" Holt and bassist Eldee Young formed the Ramsey Lewis Trio. They started as primarily a jazz unit but after their hit, "The In Crowd", in 1965 (the single reached fifth place on the pop charts, and the album second place) the trio concentrated more and more on pop material. Young and Holt left in 1966 to form the Young-Holt Trio and were replaced by Cleveland Eaton and Maurice White. White was replaced by Maurice Jennings in 1970. In the late 1970s an additional keyboard player was frequently added to the lineup.

All My Love Belongs to You, 04:15. He's a Real Gone Guy, 02:25. And I Love Her, 05:41. The More I See You, 05:13.

Considering that this album was an obvious follow-up to "The In Crowd," it is surprising that the music is not more commercial; that would happen in the near future. As it was, pianist Ramsey Lewis (assisted as usual by bassist Eldee Young and drummer Red Holt) had another big hit in "Hang on Sloopy," and the set (as with the previous one) was recorded at a club before an enthusiastic crowd. The enjoyable LP also includes a couple of Beatles tunes (their version of "A Hard Day's Night" caught on), "He's a Real Gone Guy," "Billy Boy,".
