Bob Scobey Format: Vinyl. But it had to be good to begin with or I would never have listened. This is a great album, Dad had it on vinyl and played it on a turn table. The dixieland jazz lover needs only to listen to ace in the hole & silver dollar, two of the selections on this tape to get a feeling for the perfect match scobey and hayes were in this golden age of frisco jazz. They have both passed on but there legacy and artistry will live on forever. If you love dixieland the special feeling these superb artists lent to this nostalgic music will make you a fan forever.
Bob Scobey led one of the better Dixieland/San Francisco jazz bands of the 1950s, one that differed from the earlier Lu Watters Buena Vista Jazz Band in its reliance on four-beat rhythms (rather than two-beat) and its use of bass rather than tuba.
The Scobey Story Vol. 2 is a dixieland music album recording by BOB SCOBEY released in 1959 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette.
