Decade is a greatest hits album by Duran Duran, released on 15 November 1989 (see 1989 in music). The remix single "Burning the Ground" was released to radio to promote this album. It was created by producer John Jones by mixing snippets of the band's biggest hits from the previous decade into a new piece of music. However, the track was not included on the Decade album itself. The tracks "My Own Way" and "New Moon on Monday" were also not included, even though both were top 20 hits in the UK.

Duran Duran released its self-titled debut album worldwide on June 15, 1981. Produced and engineered by Colin Thurston, the record was recorded at London's Red Bus Studios and Oxfordshire's Chipping Norton Studios. At the time, the quintet – vocalist Simon Le Bon, guitarist Andy Taylor, bassist John Taylor, drummer Roger Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes – had been together in its current incarnation for a little over a year.

Other bands had better chops, but Duran Duran was the total package. There was also the name, which just rolled off the tongue and was taken right from a character in Barbarella, the cult Jane Fonda sci-fi flick from the late ‘60s, which added to its cool cache. And again, in their early ‘80s prime, the individual members - Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor (no relation among the three Taylors) - were handsome, stylish, and seemingly made for the camera. The band put out lots of music in the early ‘80s - a studio album each in 1981, ‘82, and ‘83, plus a live album in ‘84 - and kept creating through the ‘90s and into the 2000s and 2010s. While their best work was their earlier, more pop-oriented songs, there are still a handful of more recent tracks that are certainly worthwhile. Here’s our pick for the top ten Duran Duran songs. 10 – Union of the Snake.
I was a Duran fan in the 80s, and this album has great fun with their best 80s songs. Rio" and "Hungry Like the Wolf" are Laugh Out Loud funny, and very well done. Save A Prayer", I have to say, is even more hauntingly beautiful than than the original. The rest of the covers are a mixed bag - some good, some not so good.
